I am running the Harmon Kardon in my 2000 Road Glide. The trick is that you have to get it programmed in the donor bike before you install it (if it needs programming). You will have a little fiddling with the AVC - I would have to look at how I set mine because it was over a decade ago I swapped it.
My road glide doesn't have an ultra overlay, so the radio just hooked up. I would assume that the radio would have to be programmed as an ultra classic in a bike that it could be programmed on. I cannot tell you if there is a difference with the ultra overlay.
I have an extra one laying around if you need a pic of the back side of the radio.
