My father-in-law at 75 had some issues with cancer then broke his hip in the Spring. The two of them had started getting nervous about taking log trips on the bike, an Ultra is a lot to move around plus my MIL, gear etc. They were long distance cross country riders. he thought about giving it up completely. Through much discussion we got him to trade in his Ultra and step up to a Trike, Harley of course. He seems pretty happy about the whole thing. I told him "three wheels are better than a Prius!!!' He came with us to Laconia this year still limping from the hip surgery, that put him over the top watching all of us riding and him following in the truck. Then two of the guys staying at our cabins had trikes and they talked them up to him. They were similar in age, he saw that it wasn't as "uncool" as he thought it was, again better to be riding.

One month after Laconia he has a 2018 Tri Glide and a pull behind trailer. I think they are planning a cross country trip in the Spring. God bless 'em. Keep it in the wind!!!!!!

I am 70 and this thread will keep a smile on my face for a long time. I began riding Harleys in 2003 starting with a Road King Classic followed by four more touring models (Ultra, 2 CVO Ultras, Road Glide Special); enjoyed 140,000 miles of exploration. In 2017 my health changed, and I had to sell my Road Glide. After fully recovering from rotator cuff, hip replacement and open heart surgery I wanted to ride again. In May I demo'd a '20 Road Glide and a '20 Heritage 114 - loved them both but opted for the Heritage due to its reduced weight and terrific comfort and maneuverability. 5600 miles later I have no regrets and believe I will be two-wheeling for years to come. There is no cutoff age!

I came off a Honda Blackbird and was unbelievably lucky to walk away with my life, a good friend helped me get back on. Thank God he did, it helps that the chicks dig it!

I am 66 and loving my RG but have been eyeing the Heritage as my step down bike for whenI can no longer hold up my Glide. A few people told me I won’t like it coming from a big touring bike but It sure looks good to me. How was you transition?

I'm barely in the senior citizen category but age itself doesn't affect my riding. (my disability does somewhat) One thing that has affected me is I don't like riding when the temp gets lower than 60, even bundled up like the Michelin man, unless it's a short ride, and you can't get anywhere around where I live on a short ride.
