Default Intercoms

I have the choice of either adding the parts necessary to add the HD intercom to my 2007 FLHTC. Or buy an aftermarket intercom. I have read that these aftermarket intercoms are very unreliable. The parts necessary for the HD upgrade will cost about $1000.00 retail. This includes the rear speakers, all wiring and connections, the console, the intercom upgrade for the HK radio, and the two headsets. The labor is about 4 hours. Can anyone suggest really good aftermarket intercom systems, or should I bite the bullet and do the HD upgrade? Thanks!

Have you checked out the J&M stuff? I have used their intercom/cb unit on an older Goldwing a few years back. It was better than the Honda stock CB IMHO. I believe they have a unit that will integrate with the HD system. Maybe there website can help you. www.jmcorp,com

i have the intercom only set from J&M that i use on my '06 WG. Works great and i highly recommend. lots of junk out there that promise to work but don't (don't ask me how i know). bite the bullet and go with the J&M and you'll be pleased.
