Default Completely Satisfied.....So far.

Hi All,

As a new member,I have been listening here for a while and after viewing some of the "less positive" posts, I just thought that something more positive was in order. I can honestly tell you that so far, after 2 months and 2300 miles, my first HD has been a pleasurable experience all the way around, and by far better than what has been offered to me by the UJM's for the last 30 years. I have had a couple of problems with my '07 RG, but they were handled very well by the dealer (of which I would highly recommend),Mile High Harley in Colorado (Jason). One issue was a bad turn signal switch, and a scratch that the dealer did when in for the 1K service. No argument and very apolagetic, it was fixed the first time.

As far as the problems that I hear about..... trans noise, engine noise, heat, etc..., having come from Yamaha most recently, I can tell you that all bikes have their problems, and if you are unfortunate enough to have owned one, like I have, it is a nightmare, no doubt!. You think the tranny whines? Have you everowned a Venture?Don't get me started. How about my neighbors VTX that ate a piston at 2K, in my driveway, Or my Roadstar that was completely stripped apart for a trans recall that could have killed me.

My favorite was the time my wife was following behind my brand new Concourse when the rear wheel locked up because they said the clutch basket had exploded, at 4.2 miles. I haveowned hotter bikes, ones with noiser transmissions, and some with engines that sounded like acan of marbles. I am impressed with what Harley has accomplished with the Road Glide, and can thankfully say that I must have gotten a good one. The last time I was treatedthis good from a dealer was at Lexus. And now I finally feel the level of respect that I always felt I deserved! Ha,Ha.

Just to chime in, I too have just dumped an 01 Honda ACE, and there is absolutely no comparison. I put 4000 miles on the Honda in six years and have put 1500 on my RK in 6 weeks. Night and day!!! You can't keep me off the bike now. HD is a whole different culture and I'm lovin' it! This forum is outstanding and I have been recommending it two all of my riding buddies. Thanks, everyone.
