I had a new front tire installed on my wheel and they said they checked the balance and said it needed no weights. I don't think in all my years of riding i have ever heard of this. Makes me wonder if they really checked it. I have not had the time to take it for a ride yet. Any thoughts on this ?

Take it for a ride on the highway past 70 mph. That should tell you pretty quickly if they`re out of balance. If you think they need balanced get some Ride On and follow the instructions carefully. Not only will your tires remain balanced, but you have less chance to get a flat. I once had a 3/8" hex head lag bolt in my tire that I didn`t even know was there until the tire was nearly worn out and I took the bike to an indy to get it changed. The head of the bolt was worn down flush with the surface of the tire, but it never leaked. I put Ride On in the new tire.

^^^^^^^this right here, you will find out quick when your front tire is bouncing down the road.
I have a couple of bottles of Ride-On sitting on my work bench right now, but if it does not need it i may wait awhile or at least till next summer when it's warmer out. I just can't ever remember having a new tire that did not need to be balanced.
Had the front tire replaced a couple of years ago, no weights this time. I too thought it was suspect, but nope, just fine.
Mine also Dunlop American elites. it is possible if the tire is really manufactured well, and the rim is balanced. i have seen it with car tires when I worked in a shop

I’ve used tire balancing beads in the past and told my buddies too and they’re happy. There are different brands so you can google it. They free float in the tire and go right to the unbalanced points as you ride.
