Default the initial results

I just did gear cams. I had plugs out. bike in 5th and rolled the motor a few times. Went to fire it up and had a nice fuel leak at the quick connect. I replaced the o ring with one from advance. worked well. I fired it up and it idled about 1300 rpms. Was running very rich. I let it run for 2 minutes or so. let it sit for 10 minutes. I cranked it up again and it idled around 1200 rpms. Seemed less rich but still getting some heavy fumes. Backed it off the lift and fired it up for a short ride, and it idled down at 1000. Seems to be self adjusting. It had some popping at deceleration, minimal but there. I took it out for a short run today, no popping, I still am babying it, I want to get 50 plus mile on the set up before running it any harder. I haven't been over 3000 rpms yet. It feels good. Can the mm fuel injection correct itself. And A shout it to John at Rockout, Great product and great customer service. Thanks again John

You have no tuner at all? I've been told the factory set-up will correct up to approximately 10%...IMO that's not enough. What cam...?

I do not have a tuner yet. Thinking power commander v. I think bike may have been flashed before I bought it. But thats just my theory. It came with big sucker ac and vance and hines slip ons. I switched pipes to cobra speedsters and that made a huge difference. I did the 26g cams because, I hope to get heads and 98 kit one day. I am over 100 miles since install, so I have been playing with her a little more. Still haven't ran it over 4800 rpms. Bike runs really smooth. No flat spots and pulls all the way to 4800.

You should check with local tuners to see what they recommend. Not sure what options you have but they would be able to get you pointed in the right direction. If you end up needing the bike tuned by a tuner they seem to like certain tuning devices so that's another reason to check around. I don't think you can get help from a HD dealership any longer since the EPA settlement they only offer epa compliant tunes.
