Starter jackshaft issue
I recently had to replace the jackshaft on my 1995 FLHTCU I replaced the original 3 piece shaft with a one-piece jackshaft sometimes it engages perfectly and others it doesn't engage into the ring gear sounds like it's hitting the ring gear but not engaging into the teeth just spins like the original one when it went bad. My question is, is it possible the starter has gotten to weak to force the engagement unless the teeth are perfectly aligned? Thanks your any input ahead of time.

The new one piece shafts don't use the bushing in the inner primary you remove it. It worked great as a tool to seat the new seal in there though
