If you still have the 2002... they use a pipe plug drain plug in the primary...
Possible combo of.... you tightened it too deep into the primary and something hit it, dislodging the plug magnet...
You're lucky... being a tapered plug, sometimes if you tighten it too deep, it can stress the case and crack it....
You are supposed to tighten it until it protrudes 0.16" to 0.18" from the case.... (confirm those numbers before using them, that's from memory...)
