Hello all. Owned ultra classics all my life just bought my very first Street Glide. Looking for suggestions on a Harley seat that adds comfort for my wife. Want seat that has the opening in to accommodate the rider backrest for me and I will get her the sissy bar etc. Anyone use HD seat you can recommend. We don't do long trips anymore. Usually day trips maybe a weekend here and there.
My stock seat has the slot for drivers back rest, which I never take off. Have the quick disconnect mount for passenger backrest and rack. I bought a back rest pad (Corbin) that has wrap around arm rests so wife can have a little rest spot for her arms. It also works great when I take trips as I can put my bag back there and it is pretty much surrounded by seat. I have 30" inseam, so I sent my seat to Mean City Cycle and they trimmed the seat foam so I'm a tad lower, and can flat foot. Not sure if this is what you're after. But this is what I have. Hope it helps.
The Street Glide comes with the worst seat HD ever put out. I have owned a few baggers and gone through about 20 different seats. Some good ones to consider are the HD Sundowner, the stock seat off an Ultra or the Mustang Vintage Wide Touring seat.
I have owned Mustangs, Corbins, Saddlemen and several others and to be honest I have found the Sundowner to be one of the most comfy seats out there.

Like most, I have had quite a few.
Ultra seat "IF" doing long trips with Wifey.
Stock seat for just me.
Road king seat when Wifey goes on short rides nothing over 200 miles and we are both fine.
CVO single when I want to be a bad azz....lol
So my advice which is worth nadda, try the road king seat (Not the special)
it basically keeps you in the same position and more comfort on the back for your wife.
I have the OEM King seat that I had modded with extra memory foam padding for the passenger side and the wife likes it on the longer trips. However, the HD Hammock seat gets good reviews on here. You can try them at your dealer for a demo on your new ride.
Also check the HDF classifieds, as these seats are on sale often.

The stock road king seat meets that requirement. Theres a fair chance you can find someone who will trade you. I personally like the Street Glide seat better than what came on my Road King. It is too much padding for my tastes and Ill never use the rider backrest option.
