Radar detector.
Ummm, Myth Busters tried to create a jammer out of a pile of junk. There are products that actually do work specifically designed to track the pulse train series and burst patterns. Some products work better than others, and against specific brands and models of guns such as the Stalker, Laser Atlanta, Pro Laser, and others. Check your state laws regarding LIDAR jammers before you take the plunge. To answer the question regarding the Blinder jammer. It is somewhat effective on certain types of LIDAR. I highly suggest going out and reading the jammer reviews done on the guysoflidar.com site. I think you will be impressed with the work and the series of tests on various products that this group of guys has done. These guys are hard core into this sort of thing. If you want to know how a specific product stacked up check them out. They do radar detectors, jammers, passive countermeasures. The forum where these guys hang out from that sight is radardetector.net. No I have no vested interest in either site, but I do enjoy reading and hanging out over there from time to time.

Doppler radar travels at the speed of light (670,616,629mph) unless absorbed or reflected. If the officer has it in standby and targets your vehicle, he will have already locked your speed before you begin to slow down. The typical human reaction time is 3/4 of a second to begin to react to the hazard. Radar detectorsare only helpful if someone ahead of you happens to get clocked, otherwise it is too late.
This being said, out of the radars on the market, Valentine is the best model.

Fireman get out of tickets (most of the time) in So. Cal. If a cop were fighting someone on the side of the road most people wouldnt bother to become physically involved. Most fireman would join in the fight. Semper Fi.
It's all in the wrist. With a little more practice you'll learn how to ride without being bothered by the man.
Hopefully it doesn't cost you too much more while you're learning
Be safe out there.

Everybody Speeds!!! be it 1 mph over or 30 mph over. Some admit it, some dont...Some get caught, some dont, I try to hold it 5 mph or less over the speed limit. But!!! if I do geta wild hair to Hammer down I get a severe pain in my back then I say ok ok I`m slowing down and she just smiles. Radar detectors are not 100% guaranteed to save your a$$, maybe it will maybe it want.Anytime you speed your taking a chance!! If you dont wanna get caught dont speed. Like the LEO said above they patrol certain areas and if you pay attention in your area you can learn them. I`m sorry I dont have any info on radar detectors.Special treatment, who dosnt like or want special treatment!!! I do I do I do. If you can get it the more the merrier. Anybody here never received Special Treatment? Everyone does in one way or another, happens everyday! peace
Well I sympathize with ya, but if you speed and get caught....
May offer some advice, chunk the RADAR DETECTOR, there using LASER now, and the x-band only tells you you've just been caught.
Need a real laser defuser....

I hate to break it to you, but the K40 is a pile of junk. Punch throughs all over the place, doesn't address any of the new guns... You need to get up to speed on the latest. The K40 has not been updated since it was introduced and in the last round of tests I saw with this product you will have a better chance of jamming a LIDAR gun if you threw sand at the officer as your rode by!
Just to clarify a little confusion. Most good RD's have laser detection. The bad news is that at 1000' the beam is 3 feet in diameter. So unless your LEO is careless or you get lucky the RD will only pick it up once you have been hit, or you might pickup some scatter from traffic in front of you being targeted. Again the best at LIDAR detection in a RD is the V1. So your only defense against laser that may help is an inexperinced LEO firing at great distances and spraying traffic. A few passive countermeasures can help in reducing the distance in which the LIDAR can get a lock, but not foolproof against all guns. The last thing you can do is get a good quality jammer UNLIKE the K40 mentioned above. Anyone who does tests of the K40 and they don't like the results they threaten you with their legal team. Their products have been tested and are pure garbage.
Runner up for the next worst product on the market. Rocky Mountain Radar. These do not work period. They don't jam anything, and even the RD unit in these is so bad that you might as well throw it at the officer as your ride by. Another garbage product marketed very well. There is test data for this all over and even a blind man can find these tests. If you have one of these units and are convinced it works I know a former law enforcement officer who will pay anyone who can show up with thier RMR product and have it jam a real police radar gun or LIDAR gun. There is a reward to produce a working unit and demonstrate it. Don't get burned... If you own one then toss it and buy a real detector.
Radar can in fact be detected. When the gun is fired the beams travel and bounce. If they are sampling traffic you will get a heads up if your paying attention with a good RD. The difference between a cheap RD and a good one is the ability at distance to pickup that weak bouncing signal. A cheap poor quality unit will be lucky to hear anything until it is too late. Instant on is deadly if there isn't other traffic on the road in front of you so that there is a signal to pickup. If your alone on the road you will have to slow down and get a rabbit(fast moving car to lead). Otherwise your just asking for it. So a RD is a powerful tool to help you know what is going on, but your best defense is still your own eyes, common sense, and staying alert.
Get a good RD and learn how to use it. Don't get cocky, it isn't a cop detector... It detects radar. Take some time and get educated on how this stuff works instead of throwing away good money for garbage.
Now the proven advise given here? Slow down and enjoy the ride. Lots less stressful, and besides where you gotta be that is nearly as nice as listening to that sweet bike purring and rumbling along?

I have always used a adar detector and a cb radio together. This works !Better yetI travel 5 mph over the speed limit and the leo's will not even look at you! I drive coast to coast for a living and get the ******* every time I pass a cross with flowers, marking the spot where someones loved one was killed in an accident. ( there ARE way to many ). I see way to many who are driving that DO NOT understand what the consequences are when things go wrong. When my radar detector goes off I always look down and check my speed. Thishelps me stay legal.
Longsnowsm, that's good advice. Slow down and enjoy the ride. Once LIDAR is in use, there's no point in running a RD, as ThunderPress recently reported. There's no scatter to read, and the only thing the RD tells you is that you're about to be pulled over.
