Ive got an 18 Ultra Limited and pretty much dont like the funky tip on the rear fender. I think its made of plastic and looks chrome, but I was thinking about painting it black and was wondering if anyone else has done this?
Looks like my options are to leave it as is, replace with Custom Dynamics lighted tip, or paint it.
Thought I might paint it and if I screw it up or it just looks bad after the paint job, then go another route.
Any feedback on your experience as well as suggestions and ideas welcomed. Thx
I've painted many items I didn't or couldn't powdercoat using the HD Vivid Black/Clear rattle cans without any issue. Trick is to use a good off the shelf automotive grade primer (rattle can) first.
Note: the HD brand vivid black and clear is not cheap, but is a perfect match and lays down really well. Lasts a long time too...

Thanks for the response and suggestion.........I'll give it a shot.
Is HD Brand vivid black and clear usually available at the dealer?
I was totally surprised by a can of mercury black spray paint. I got it for 8 bucks. I base coat clear coat sprayed my cowling last year, ended up with a rub down the side due to boat dock. I sprayed it just to get by and it came out awesome.
