Going to be posting my 05 Road Star on ebay for sale very soon. Just curious what yall have found to be the best times to start or end an auction and any special days to start or end? Auction length? Any hints from the pros will help lol.
It may seem obvious but check your spelling carefully. It's been mentioned that one way to find an occasional bargain for Sportster parts is to search for spelling variations such as "Sporter" or "Sporster". These ads don't get as much traffic, hence the low number of bids and low sale price. Works for other motorcycle models as well.
I sell on eBay quite a bit. Always end your auctions after 6pm as people are home from work and can stay on-top of their bidding. I try to start my listing mid-week so the weekenders will have sufficient time to browse. For an extra 10 cent listing fee, you can schedule your start times for any time/day you want. I also utilize the miscellaneous category so I can skirt some of the eBay fees. Just make sure that you use many âkey wordsâ in your listing so bidders will be able to find it using the search feature.
I have both bought and sold on Ebay. My expierence is bikes sell for a little less then they are worth on ebay, which is fine because they sell fast. Dont expect to get top dollar on ebay. Most buyers are looking for a deal. I love to buy bikes on ebay...the prices are GREAT..way below the dealers price on used bike by thousands.
I've sold threeharleys and two cars on Ebay. I'd say list it for 7 days. Try to have it end on a friday or sunday night at 9pm EST time. Most importantly use the highest resoultion pics you have. Also, cashiers check only and deposit it in the bank and wait for the funds to clear before allow bike to leave. There's lots of scam going on
