I hope this is the forum for this thread - I ride a 2019 CVO Street Glide but this last year both of my knees have been really painful and the Dr. says I can't delay knee replacement any longer (both knees, unfortunately but getting them done 6 month apart). Just a few weeks ago I couldn't even back my bike from a flat paved spot - needed to get help to get it pointed in the right direction!
So... I'm curious if others are riding these big baggers and have had both knees replaced? I've been thinking it may be time for a Tri-Glide or maybe something like a Low Rider? I'd be interested to hear your experience... and, if you see a 2019 CVO in the "classifieds" in the near future, you know I've opted for the Tri or smaller bike (i.e. lighter). Thanks, Al
Friend and manager of a local Indy shop rides loads unloads bikes all the time both knees done was one not to long ago he is at it already. Lot depends on your motivation I think.
15 years ago they put one of mine back together leaving cool screws and hardware and said I will need to replace
both of them in 10 years. I'm holding off as long as I can but yeah you'll see from others here you'll be good.
The big trick is don't pussyfoot around on the therapy and recovery. You baby it, you lose it.
Couple of guys I ride with have had knees done. It is a long road back. But, as long as you don’t slack off on the pt, they are and you can be riding 2 wheels again.
Full knee replacement on the right knee still riding my Street Glide at 70. Going to need the left done at some point. When my balance goes thats when Ill look at a CVO trike!
I had my left replaced, then worked on and now looking to replace it again.
Did all my PT and then some.
I do not trust it anymore 2 up so went to a trike.
I believe I am in the minority as most replacements work better than mine.
Had my right knee replaced in 12. Followed doc's orders and did my PT. No issues riding, moving or backing up the bike. Other than being short in the inseam!!! Left knee has been scoped a few times and is a bit bothersome at times. But no issues riding or going 2 up. 2013 Street Glide.
