Hey guys, looking at info on finding the widest rear tire thatll fit a 2008 Ultra classic. All the searches I did just found info on what would fit a stock rear wheel but Im planning on upgrading wheels, so whats the biggest wheel/tire I can go without modification? Thanks for the help.
150 will fit , tire brands vary, "some ' will require an 1/8th spacer on in board side of rear sprocket to create belt clearance
This was my experience with 150 70 18 Metzler , on `99 RK
It is close to the fender
Can`t hurt to get on the floor and make some comparative measurements as you have a later model year

Up to 2001.....they came with the 130. In 2002, narrower belt and improved swing arm allowed for the 140. Stayed that way until the 2010 models came out. Only exception was the 2007-2008 Se Roadking....came with a wider fender and wider swing arm allowing a 160.
Ive seen 140s on pre-2001
ive seen 160s on post 2002.....tight squeeze
I am running a 180 65 16 on my 1999Ultra. But I have modified the swing arm & rear fender. Before that I was running the 150 80 16 with a 1" wide belt. Which you already have. You may have to center the rear tire with different shims, but it does track better when that is done in my opinion.
