So I am going to upgrade to the screaming eagle hydraulic tensioner system in the next few weeks. I have an 04 RKC. Last year around this time I replaced the shoes and decided to fix this issue and not worry about it anymore. So I replaced the inner bearings with the s&s kit for my 509 cams last year at this time. They are the Torrington bearings I believe. My question is do i need to replace those cam bearings again or can I just leave it since I just did this last year? Same cams will be going in. Just don’t want to have to replace the bearings if I don’t have too. Thanks
I wouldn't think replacing them after a single year would be required. Unless you've been fueling up with nitro, or something, and racing funny cars.. Normal wear after a year should be about zero. Just my opinion.
FWIW, there are many people who swap cams several times and leave the OEM bearings in place...
No need to replace them again, if they are in fact the Koyo-Torrington bearings, unless there was some issue with them....
You have a better designed bearing in there, than OEM.
They should give many years/miles of good service..
If you are not sure if they were the Koyo-Torrington bearings, here is a pic comparing the Torrington (pic was done before Toyo bought out Torrington), tot he INA brand bearings. A visual inspection will tell you which ones you have

If you already have the quality bearings in there I say leave em.
