I’m not gonna bash doing the shock oil change too much because I did it on my 07 but once y’all invest in real shocks you will ask why you didn’t do it before...forks are a little easier to do but still a pain. I recently bought a 14 trike with 34k miles and changes the fork oil and the result is great but compared to the cartridge setup in my 07 it lacks. I waited on my 07 because of funds.
Absolutely correct way to go, but for $10, what the heck, still a noticeable improvement IMO
Went for my first ride of the season today April 7th. I had changed the oil in my Forks to 15wt and the oil in my air shocks to 10wt a month or so ago. Very pleased, the ride is firmer, yet smoother and a LOT less fork dive. Should have done this years ago. 2007 FLHT

Jim,
Did you just do the drain and fill method on the forks or did you disassemble them?

bang for the buck you are right......
off subject, Buddy of mine in NB I grew up with is moving to Ottawa... he retired from RCMP. Sold his house near Moncton and moving this summer. He said he was gonna park his camping trailer and look for a house. Apparently the market isstooopid crazy there as well.
How many ounces did you put in each shock? I just put 10 1/2 of max life ATF in mine haven't test yet as bike is torn down right now. Waiting on tubes from Suspension technologies. Now I know how easy the shocks are to change oil, I can switch to red line shock oil next if I don't like it and change weight till they match the front.
