Default 2019 SGS - Rear Pads

With the linked brakes on my 2019 SGS, I rarely ever pull the front brake lever under normal riding conditions (other than when stopped at a light). At 28,500 miles today was the day to replace them, and this is how they looked compared to new. So many people ask about better than factory pads, but I have no complaints and replaced them with the same. Anyway, though some of you might want to see what they look like at that mileage.

You may be easy on the back brake, while others grind them into the dirt! Obviously from your picture ,you fall into the first category.

As always, results may vary.

I just returned from a quick trip to bed the pads in. Funny how as they gradually wear out you don't realize they also gradually lose braking power. I now have significantly better brakes and a higher/firmer pedal.

2016 Street glide. Last year I was at a dealer looking at pads(40k miles) tech looked at me and asked if I only rode freeways. Lol. At 45k they are not even half way worn out. Going to be doing Ride Like A Pro class this summer, so guessing I'll be using lot of rear brake. Just to be safe I'll get them changed. Will most likely buy OEM unless there's better option. Looking at Lyndall gold plus organic metal they are $60 on DennisKirk. Do they come in a whole set that I need ?

EBC also makes some good pads as well, and you can buy the two wheel kit.

Interesting! I cannot break the habit of grabbing a handful of front at the same time, and I have had multiple Linked-Brake bikes, going all the way back to my '96 CBR1000F.

I am pulling the rear wheel for a tire soon, I will have to take a peek at my pads...
