Shift Light over 70-75mph

Default Shift Light over 70-75mph
I went on a ride Sunday, a mix of in town, back roads, highway and interstate. I noticed that the shift light would come on once I hit 70-75mph while in 5th gear. RPMs were hitting right around 3k. Is this normal? I would think that once it hit 5th gear the shift light wouldn't come on unless at a dangerously high RPM

What model do you have that has a shift light?

It’s a little circle with an arrow pointing up that comes on when I’m hitting roughly 3000 RPMs... happens in all 5 gears...

That doesn't look like a 2001 Harley tach.......they didn't have ABS then!!!
