I have a 07 SG 6 speed that it looks like I need a new trans case.
The bottom 2 bolts for the trap door were stripped from the previous owner and I put inset a nut in to give it a new thread and just noticed that one is spinning which means it is stripped again ..
What year cases will work for the touring models and what should I expect to pay for a nice case..
Thanks In Advance
It MAY be worth trying to mostly fill the hole with an epoxy, like JB Weld, for example, but leave a hole in the middle with a dowel, or drill bit, then, running a tap through the hole, and just cutting new threads..Those bolts don't get a huge amount of torque on them, so this might work. Or, possibly a helicoil, set with red loctite. I've never had one come loose when the red is used. Both these are less expensive, and labor intensive than changing cases. Good luck, whatever you decide..
