I recently installed some HD LED passing lights on my 2015 Street Glide Special (103 CI engine). The issue is that if I ride with them on, the engine light comes on after approximately 30 minutes. The kit is the genuine HD parts bought at Barnes HD in Langford BC Canada. Would it be that this is creating an extra load on the stator? Could it be that I need an adapter in the line like a relay in there to take the load? If I ride with them off, the trouble doesn't show up. At the same time I went with a LED headlamp and LED flashers and break light. Could it be that the bike doesn't like the LED's all around? Should I go back to bulbs?
Just wondering if someone else ran into this issue and what they did to remedy the problem. Help is greatly appreciated.
You may get a remedy here , but I would start by pulling any codes that came up , if there are any , post em up , may guess is your right , probably need a load equalizer . You could also email Barnes and see what they say , I'm sure they'll have an answer for you . Good luck , hope you get this right .

You do not need load equalizers, nor any programming for LED lights on a Rushmore bike. The can bus will eventually adjust itself for the LEDs. But curious , how are you running the driving lights? Did you install the switch pack in the dash panel ? Or do some other wiring?
I installed the kit with the switch in the dash board like a dealer would have. I also changed all other lights to LED's so the CANBUS is probably a bit confused. I will see if I can find someone with a code reader to find out what the codes out.

You can pull the codes yourself. This link explains how, and also contains a listing of the codes and what they mean.

First, obviously pull the codes to see what they say.. it's possible it is unrelated to the LED switchover..
As mentioned, the canbus system on your 2015 bike doesn't need a load equalizer to adapt to the lower amp draw of the LED lighting.
There is a procedure that Custom Dynamics suggests, when switching the turn signals over to LEDs, that will synchronize the LED turn signals with the canbus system. Since you say you switched all the lights over (including turn signals?), I'd run the Custom Dynamics LED Canbus Syn procedure and see if it helps..
