I haven't had any badges on my current bike it's been 8 years lol. Ive always wanted some to make it a little easier to pick my bike out of the sea of black street glides. I jusy always assumed it would be a PITA to align them properly
I like it. It's the attention to detail that really make a bike "you're bike". My only suggestion is when you paint it, I'd try to color match the paint color to the color of the stiching to really tie them together.
FWIW, I did red calipers on my 1200 and I love them. I bought an extra set off Ebay so the bike wouldn't be down during the project.

It wasn't easy for sure. A level, some string, and some painters tape. I think I'm within a 1/16 of an inch side to side. OCD? yes!
