Anyone have any insight on what the differences are? I put about 80,000 miles on a old style 52093-08A and I really liked it. Bought a new style Sundowner a couple years ago. I've put about 40,000 miles on it. Really liked the old style better until it started breaking down.
Anyone have the old style 52093-08A they can measure the drivers seating area? I can't remember it being much wider, if any, than the new style. Harley says the old style is 16" and the new style 14.5". The new style measures 15.5" for the driver not the 14.5" Harley states!
Also does anyone know why Harley states the old style won't fit the 2014+ with tour box? I know it fits fine because I used one on my 2014+ Limiteds with tour box.
Wanted to ask before I order a new old style Sundowner
I put the #52093-08A seat (bigger seat) on my '16 Bagger with a tour pak... even though it says it shouldn't fit, I have no issues...
I believe the difference is in the length of the pillion seat cushion. The OEM seat has more room, it's easier to manipulate the rear seat screw... with the #52093-08A seat, it seems to encroach a little more on that rear seat screw, and with the tour pak, makes it a little bit harder to work the screw... it's absolutely doable, and no issues anywhere else...
