Just got the hardware, trying it out for fit. Sonogabitch don't wanna go on. I can get it on the hard way, but....?

loosen the bolts.. fit it in and tighten back up/// not exactly quick release but works

Yeah. I was surprised it didn't slip right on. It's like the top " hooks" don't wanna go over the grommets.

mine does the same thing, I switch back and forth from fairing to windshield,, supposed to be quick release but its just a minor inconvenience

I often catch myself not pushing the bottom section of the down far enough for trying to lean the top in.

I replaced the grommets when I had everything apart last, which helped quite a bit since they'd gotten a little chewed up over the years. Now if I make sure everything lined up and bottom is slid down into place firmly, I can line up top and give another firm press back to engage without issues.

Also make sure nuts aren't over tightened and crushing the grommets. I also replaced the studs with new ones that tighten down in tree without screwing into fork tubes--much easier to get consistent results now.
