Coming back from a trip today, the temp and check.engine lights on my 14 Limited came on. This had happened to me before on a previous 14 Limited. It was the water pump and I figure that's what it is this time. I'm planning on replacing it myself. Has anyone else done this themselves? If so, recommendations or suggestions of something else it may be? System is not leaking and has plenty of antifreeze in the reservoir. Thanks in advance.

It's pretty easy to tell if it's the pump or not (assuming you've thrown a P1019 DTC code). When the bike is hot (both LEDs lit) shut the bike down and then force the pump and fans on (ignition to the "on" position with throttle held 1/2 open. Do NOT start engine). Feel the air being exhausted from the lowers by the fans. If the air is hot the pump is working as the coolant is hot. If the air is cool or at ambient temp, then the pump is not working as the coolant is cool and has not been flowing through the heads.
I recently replaced my old pump with the new kit (p/n 26800107). It wasn't difficult to do. The only issues I had were the correct number of hose clamps were not included (no big deal) and the plastic cover for the water pump did not fit the new pump so well. Easy to fix the fit of the cover with a Dremel to make a little more clearance.
