Default Air Suspension ?

I bought the pump that Harley sells, I put some air in the system. About 10 lbs. When I connect the pump to the filler port should I be able to read pressure in the system?

Well it turns out the 2 air lines had a loose connection to the port so all air was escaping. I also found a bolt missing on the bracket that the saddlebag attaches to.

There's also a problem with how the air fitting mounts to the docking hardware. The fitting is often too short to use the pump. Some guys have unscrewed it and let it hang down, others have ground the air fitting to the pump down. HD knows about it.

My SG is in as we speak getting the 25 degree injectors and dynod. I am having them check out my suspension too cause of the exact same problem. The pump bottoms out on the mounting bracket. I don't even know if I am getting air in the suspension. I always seeme to be bottoming out. I will let you know what the dealer finds.

Each time I check the air in the suspension I have to take the nut off and pull the bycicle fitting out of the frame. That's the only way I get and accurate reading or get air in to the shocks, using the Harley air pump. It's a pain.

I remember that I had to relocate the filler valve when I installed my backrest and the Tour-Pak docking kits. I don't have to let the valve hang, but do have to remove the left bag to get to the valve. Anyone else have the same experience?

Same here, after relocating the air inlet fitting onto my passenger backrest docking kit I need to remove the left bag for access. I was having to remove the fitting from the bracket to put air into the system as my bicycle pump fitting would not depress the valve before bottoming out on the retainer nut.
I've since purchased the HD pump for more accurate air filling and was pleased to find out that I no longer need to remove the inlet valve from the bracket. About 3 turns away from having the pump's thumbscrew/nut bottom out I get a pressure reading so all is well.
