Default Passenger backrest help

I've got a friend with an 09 Road King. He's got a prosthetic leg and swings it over the back of the seat to mount the bike. Recently he started dating and she would like to ride with him. She would like a passenger backrest but it gets in the way of him swinging his leg over the saddle. I've been searching Dr Google for hours for this but can't find it. A fold down passenger backrest. One like the drivers backrest that's spring loaded that folds forward and pops back up.
Anyone ever seen something like this? It doesn't have to be spring loaded. It just has to fold down out of his way until he mounts. Then it can be put back up for her.
Any help would be appreciated.

Don’t know if they make any that fold forward, but Harley makes a reclining pass. backrest...may recline enough to give him room ?

Unfortunately no. We've tried a bunch of suggestions from local Bikers and that was one of them. I appreciate the idea though.

I'm going to look for one of those online right now and see what they look like. Thanks.

Not cheap, but another option is to install the H-D 4-point docking hardware kit with an H-D detachables sissy bar.

She would need to install the sissy bar after he mounts the bike and remove it for him to dismount, but it's not that difficult to do.

I’m willing to bet if you had the HD one someone could fabricate a folding point on it. Talk to a couple welders and see what you can come up with. Hopefully he doesn’t have to have a chrome one.

With the detachable, he could get on the bike, have her put the backrest on, ride, she gets then removes the backrest. I'm guessing that's obvious. Is that just too cumbersome? I'm not trying to be a smartass, just wondering. If so, I wonder if there is a fab shop close by that would put a hinge in one. I have a friend that owns a fab shop, I'm pretty sure he and I could come up with something. I wonder if you could make one that slides in and out of a base. Just thinking....

That's what I was thinking. A post and hole setup where the backrest pegs slide into a mount. The hinge idea sounds more practical but would cost more to fabricate I bet. It's a great set of ideas. I'll start looking around today. Thanks.

I was intrigued by the post, so I've done some looking. Not much out there retail. I think you're going to have to make it. I was thinking order the short backrest. Cut it. Weld a collar to it. then slide it in. drill a hole and use pins to keep it in place. Buttons like on a EZUP tent would be better probably. I would definitely want a good welder of course and I wonder if it will vibrate. But I think with minimal weight from the passenger, it should be fine.
