I figure since we as a group are quick to write about our bad experiences I would let you all know about my recent trip to my local dealer here in Washington State (Destination Harley in Fife).
Thursday evening I found that I had acquired a nail in my rear tire and had a need ofr a tire replacement. Called the dealer location 2 miles (owned by the same group) but was told that the earliest that could get me in with Aug 11th... they suggested I call the Fife location as they are a much bigger operation and might be able to get me in sooner.
The Fife store suggested that if I could drop the bike off that they should be able to get it back in less than 3-4 days. Turns out they called me the next morning to let me know it was complete and that I could come pick it up.
(They also checked out the front brake squeal and found a warped rotor which they replaced under warrenty)
When I arrived they had not re-installed the windshield (no big deal) but the tech had forgotten to attach the clutch cable clip to the bracket for the windshield, and had tightened down the bracket too much to allow the windshield to be placed on easily.... no big deal really I just mentioned it to the service writer who rolled the bike back in side to have it fixed.
While waiting outside with my wife and daughter the service writer came outside and again apologized for the delay.. he then asked us if we wore HD apparel (uh yeah, we do!) and had all 3 of us go inside to pick out a free t-shirt... we ended up with roughly $120 worth of t-shirts for what I had already told him was really no big deal.
yep would be nice if all dealers treated us that way.
Not to mention the free shirts which was an added plus.
Maybe some of the other dealers that visit here will get the hint?
Yeah, really didn't need another T from this particular dealer (I purchased the bike here in '06) but my wife and daughter got a couple pretty sweet shirts that for once I didn't have to cough up the $$ for
