Header fitment question
I haven't seen all the pics yet, but wondering if they are repairable, would it fit my '14 Ultra Classic, 103". Might be too far gone, but if its just a crack, and not totally eroded away metal, sounds fixable to me. Would be a cheap way to get those headers.
Anyone know if they would fit?
As far as repairing a crack, a competent welder should be able to do it. TIG prolly. I have a very nice Miller 250X MIG welder. Doesn't make me competent, just means I'm a guy with some welding equipment.
Edit: good time to de-cat it, if it has one in there.
Its a Vance and Hines header, and I remember he put that on to get rid of having a CAT. I have a Mig welder, and am decent with it. I de-catted my factory header, and welded it back together, so I am confident, if the steel is still there, it can be fixed.

same twin cam engine and same frame. But I would repair the crack properly, using your standard MIG welder in your garage with who knows what wire(probably ER70s) you will probably get away with it for a bit, but it may rust and possibly crack again. Most exhaust headers are made out of 304 or 308 stainless(I know the S&S power tunes are). Good way to properly repair them is to use a 308L or 309L stainless wire/rod, I TIG mine for modifications or repairs and never had an issue. Just .02
There isn't even anyone I know around the area that has a Tig. This is farm country, and a Mig is high tech, lol. Once I get it into my little hands, I could find a pro and see how much it would cost, thats worth a try for sure.
