Question Driver backrest suggestions

I’m looking for suggestions on a driver backrest for my new(well, new to me) 2014 SGS. I’ve looked at several but I’m the kind of guy that likes to ask others what works for them. There’s numerous options out there but, I haven’t a clue if they work well or if they are just cheap Chinese junk.

Thanks guys. Appreciate it.

Do you have an HD seat or something else?

……rider backrest……

HD has two options (fixed or adjustable) and Mustang has a decent setup that works with seats other than their own.

Stock HD seat with a slit in the middle.

The non-adjustable from HD is manually adjustable by removing it and moving it around. I just removed mine 2 days ago and installed the (cable) adjustable version and I like it much better as there is more adjustability.

I have had two grasshoppers, normally need a little tweak to bend it for the best fit, but great quality for 75 bucks

I have the Mustang and it is great. Nice thin profile. Works with HD seats as well. I had the HD cable adjustable one first, and although it is easily adjusted and comfortable, it is heavily padded and very thick. This pushed me forward and rested the family jewels on the front of the seat. Not so comfortable. The Mustang is also adjustable on the fly up, down forward or backward.

I have been using a Grasshopper on my last two bikes ever since a weld broke on an HD backrest. It works fine but adjustability is limited.
