It was amazing. No more head gettin tossed around. The buffeting was bad. I've just put up with it since I got the bike. Enough was enough. I should have done it when I bought the scooter
Ditto on adding a touch more heat to your crotch in the summer time (HD larger fang units), but with the huge different improvement they makes to steering dampening and helmet buffeting, can live with the extra crotch heat or adding Heat shields isntead.

The real question, has anyone tried the larger HD fangs, and some of the after market smaller fangs side by side to make a comparison between them.
Hence not just crotch heat effect, but buffet and steering dampening effects that are the reason they are added in the first place?
For me, at 75 mph, with the HD fangs, in a calm pocket of air behind the windshield, and with the added steering dampening by them (can feel it as low as 30mph), not a problem pulling my hand off the bars at that speed as well.
Before without them, whiplash buffeting at 55mph from the wind coming up from the windshield, and would not dare pull my hands off the bars.
So, they deflect air away from the motor, on an air cooled bike? Seems like it would kill the rear cylinder? I mean, the reason you get more nug heat is there is more heat.
. Do you add an oil cooler too?
. I'm looking for fins that direct more air my way. Like an old vent wing window. These 90deg days with 90% humidity in full jacket, gloves, helmet gets hot!
I mean yeah I’m feelin more heat after only a few days with em. But it was worth the trade. I can’t imagine it’s enough heat to do any damage. But also I live in wa state.
if it gets bad I’ll do an oil cooler.
fir now I’m smiling about not gettin my head tossed around. Shoulda done this 3 years ago
