The one thing we can absolutely be sure of…there will be a “Vivid Black” color. And I doubt Harley will ever go to an aluminum frame. An I hope they don’t.
I bought a 2016 RGS in Spring of 2016 - a few months before the M8 was premiered. Did I regret it?
NO!!
I just traded this year for a host of reasons. I absolutely loved riding my "old" twin cam; as the last year for them, I experienced a trouble-free 38,000 miles with plenty of smiles per mile. No sumping, no transferring, no dripping, leaking, or burning.
Now the M8 has had a lot of the bumps ironed out - no more transfer, no more sumping.
Waiting for next year is a fools errand. When you have the coin, buy and enjoy.
I dont really care about the engine since I liked my twin cam when I had my Slim but I care about suspension since my wife has back issue and as of now its pretty sad that the softail have better suspension than the TOURING line which should be the comfy bikes for long rides.
I bought a 2016 UC specifically to avoid the wet head. I'm getting close to 40K on the clock with no issues. Sounds like the M8 is pretty stable now too, but I'm in no hurry to replace what I've got. I'd actually be wary of buying the first year of a significant overhaul. Being the first to have the latest and greatest might be worth the headaches to some people...but not me.
New "Ultra Tour" touring line with a punched out 1450 Rev Max to compete with BMW etc ultra touring rigs. 160-170 HP
All the modern features of the Pan America with new modern body plastics, mono shock, auto ride height, etc, etc.
M8 will stay with the current touring (classic) line.
I’ve been looking forward to this myself. I can’t believe that H-D can’t see how Indian their competition can build a bike that sits lower than street glide and still manage 5 inch suspension travel. I had Chieftain and it’s suspension was Lexus plush. Only reason im riding H-D is because it’s the only touring bike with after market reverse available that I’m able to handle. Hopefully Indian comes up with reverse.
Probably because HD doesn't need to. HD sells as many bikes in a quarter as Indian does in a year.

LOL nice rant. Never saw the need for reverse myself.
