Default Still waiting

[QUOTE=akodust;20075381]My 2016 Limited CVO has been at Longhornhd for 3 weeks...waiting on a Stater( almost like an alternator) to be installed, but the part is on order. Service Dept. tells me that some bikes have been there for 2 months waiting on parts. Has anyone else had this problem.
Still waiting for the part...it is warranty work..so I’ll wait until the part comes in

When I bought my 21 RKS on July 11, I ordered a black, full size engine guard that day. I really like the chopped engine guard that the new 21’s have, and I plan on keeping it and using it during the summer. But I want to be able to swap it out with the full size one in the fall so I can use the soft lowers, which drastically cut down the cold air on my legs and feet. I ride right up until either the first snow or first road salting, whichever occurs first. I will leave the full size guard on over the winter for spring riding, since it can be quite chilly around here still, then swap it back out for the chopped guard for the warmer weather.
The point of this long boring reply is to say here it is, August 5th, and still no engine guard. And no date given on when I can expect it. Hopefully it will be in for the fall riding season.
I was pleasantly surprised when I bought the bike, they actually had the matching black passenger footboards to the rider’s footboards in stock! I immediately purchased them, so Mrs. 603 was happy I was able to swap out the uncomfortable passenger footpegs for her.

I have been watching the MOCO site for saddlebag guards and they have been out of stock for the past 4+ months. It's not just the MOCO either. Drag Specialties is showing BO as well with the date changing every month. Can't find anywhere. This is pretty much everywhere. Sucks. Have a new $40k garage with no doors for 3 months now. On BO of course!!

A coworker built a garage, and like you, has been waiting for garage doors since May. He was told maybe later this month. I wanted to buy a pair of boat trailer guides, the ones I wanted are out of stock of course, so luckily I found a different brand at a similar price. One of my wife’s coworkers put a deposit on a certain model of side by side UTV earlier this year. After having the delivery date pushed out several times, she gave up and got her deposit back. I think with this latest outbreak of the Beijing surprise, these shortages and back orders will only get worse.

Been waiting 2 months for a service manual. They say it's coming from the vendor, not the MOCO. I'm glad I don't yet need it!

It's everybody. I'm in GM parts. We're having back orders worse than I've
ever seen in the decades I've been doing this. No raw materials for making
parts. Everything from chips to upholstery to steel to forge crankshafts.
If you want a perf eng - FORGET IT !!

Why should people go back to work when the gvmt will pay them more to
stay home ?

This deal is real and not much that manufactures can do about it. We have had parts that were ordered last year (Oct. 2020) for scheduled delivers each month for this entire year. Sign, sealed and delivered paperwork by both party's last year! Now here we are in August looking for the raw parts that were to be here in February - August! Currently the electronic suppliers are 7 months behind and we are ordering for next year already but the big change is they will no longer quote and hold prices, there is a new term now being used called "Market Pricing" by all IC suppliers. What this means is they will accept the orders but the price will be whatever the price is when the parts are shipped. The prices now being quoted are up from last year on average over 600%, with 12 months plus delivery dates! So a part that sold previously for $3.23 is now $31.50 with no guarantee that will still be the price when parts are really shipped! With all this going on we can all expect a major increase in thing we buy during the next year. This isn't just an automotive problem it anything the uses IC's in them which in this day and age is pretty much any appliance you or I use today.
