My 2016 Limited CVO has been at Longhornhd for 3 weeks...waiting on a Stater( almost like an alternator) to be installed, but the part is on order. Service Dept. tells me that some bikes have been there for 2 months waiting on parts. Has anyone else had this problem?
GF's trike in for crash repairs waiting 3 months still two parts short. Covid has screwed the entire manufacturing to warehouse and shipping parts flow.
Join the club and hope yours is not one of the seriously back ordered parts with a ship date later than September.
If it was not a warranty repair, I would have gone to Cycle Electric and purchased one of their Stators. American made and you can get one rated for 50 amps.
Although it's not as serious as your issue...I ordered a HD air filter for my '15 Ultra online back in May from Surdyke Harley, still havent received it...they keep sending me e-mails telling me it's backordered.
I learned my lesson, I knew I should have went aftermarket
My tailight broke on my bike...the plastic mounting plate inside that holds the lens and housing on. I called the dealer to see if they had one..
I knew it was a long shot on a 12 year old bike. They didn't have it but she did a nationwide search and said that there's one dealer in Jackson that shows they have one lol...ill probably call but not counting on it. She said they were back ordered till the end of September. I was able to do some surgery on it and it should stay together for awhile...hopefully it'll last through the rest of the season. It's all over with lots of stuff ...try to find tires for a touring bike lol. Our buyer at work said the largest producer of stainless steel sheet products is cutting production by 70 percent this month. The price has nearly doubled in 2 months...it'll definitely keep alot of stuff from being made or ordered.
If it was not a warranty repair, I would have gone to Cycle Electric and purchased one of their Stators. American made and you can get one rated for 50 amps.
