I've had JRI's and ProAction.
I can say I have spoken with both George and DJ at ProAction and it was a totally pleasant experience. Both times I had over-adjusted and they took the time to explain the reasons why and what each adjustment would and will do....
The ProActions are much better than the JRIs that I had....
Running George’s 13” Pro Action shocks and it was a definite ah hah moment when I bolted them on. Right out of the box, they were set up and ready to ride.
Something else to consider is the shock travel. More travel is better....I'm riding on 13 inch RW's, my understanding is the RW's are 4 inch travel, this is accomplished with the piggyback reservoir design....I don't know what the travel is on the Pro actions....
Great info. I looked on their website and didn't see any info related to the travel of the shock. Any idea on the 13.5" or 14" shock travel?
I just but on a pair of legends none A and I like them more than the Pro actions that had 70,000 miles. The Pro Action are firm compared to legends seam more plush. Will see how they compare when I get the Pro action back from being freshened up. First I've heard of these other shocks you speak of.

I don't know why Russ W doesn't state the RS-1 shock travel on his website....there's an email contact on his site...I've corresponded with them a few times....If you shoot him an email he'll tell you the shocks have a 4 inch stroke.
I'll say this again. Out of the box , the shocks if not "there'' they will be close. The out of box adjustments were made by info supplied by you. Adjust with baby steps. You'll get better results.
I've experience with Progressive and Pro Action. They both perform. The progressive 944's and front springs I installed on my Electra Glide give me a nice ride. I had to tweek em in and found the sweet spot. Happy when I ride it.
I have the PA's dialed in and am happy with them on my other bike.
