Default Missing Compression Release Cap

Haven't been here for a while. Cleaning and doing maintenance the other day I noticed that I am missing one of the push button caps on my compression releases I had installed for hot starts when I bumped my 07 ultra up to 103 before moving to Hawaii. Dealer installed Screamin Eagle p/n 32076-04 which is no longer available. The caps thread down on a 6-32 size thread pitch. If you have ever lost one of these, how creative did you get to replace it short of going to eBay and buying more compression releases just to get a replacement push button? Or, does anyone here know how to research who made these compression releases for Harley? If the manufacturer is still around, do you have any idea how to reach out to them?

I would just get a small vacuum cap from an auto store. If memory serves, they come in an assortment, just use one that is a snug fit.

No need to overthink it. You could blue locktite a nut on there or a vacuum cap as previously suggested.

I would order one in black. Do apply some loctite to the threads.

Timely thread for me.

I have recently been thinking about changing my black caps to chrome caps.

I found these from Drag Specialties:

The pic of yours is not the one in the bag. It looks like it had the blue plastic tops or the aftermarket metal ones as pictured above.

Gentleman. Thank you for your input, FYI, I was also even told to look at drawer pulls. I don't know if anyone will need this information since Harley does not offer manual compression releases anymore, but after reaching out to Dennis Kirk, Amazon and eBay, another fellow enthusiast told me that old school mechanics are the best parts finders. Turns out TP Engineering supplied manual compression releases to Harley. I have spoken to TP Engineering and they will have the cap I need in stock in about a week. If I need to use the MCR before receiving the new cap from TP Eng, I have a 6-32 acorn nut I can use. OBTW theheder, the drag specialties chrome caps silicone down onto the black rubber caps, if you want to talk to Dennis Kirk like I did, they have an array of caps that thread down onto the shrader threaded caps in lieu of the black cap. Or you could also reach out to TP Engineering to see if their billet or brass cap will replace the black caps you have.

How about a short lever secured by a nut. Then you don't have to get your fingers near a hot area on a hot start, and easier to find in the dark.
