Damn dude that was quite a leap.

*** no. My boys gave me the usual tips I’ve been hearing here (no front break low speed with bars turned, come to stop with bars straight, couple other things.
I would’ve done the stupid course no doubt, but I walked into HD, saw the bike, sat on it, knew it wouldn’t last long so said *** it.
it was either trailer it back and try to back it off solo or ride it back 250km.
im happy I did tho. Get me comfortable and confident on the bike.
still don’t wanna take a loss dumping it doing something stupid just out of inexperience so I was thinking of getting an old gold wing or something just to practice 8s with and whatnot in a parking lot.
i was givnr tho. No problem leaning this bitch either. I know we’re in for good times together, im smart enough to check myself when I start feeling a little over confident tho ⚡️⚡️
Ya I’ve watched lots of videos from Paladino, never heard of the other guy tho. Ill
check those out now.
I really really like the road glides too and it was a very hard decision for me.
I even called the same night and ask them to hold the rg they had (exact same color scheme) until I came back the next day.
what did it for me was the bars. Didn’t like how they are on the rg and buddy at the dealership was talking about 3 grand to change them.
i just got my first bike (rode dirt bikes a bit as a kid so kinda understood a clutch, and if I’m being honest I had a 300 for about a week but didn’t even get passed third in it)
Just got a 2021 street glide special, and drove it back 250km through city and on hwy.
this was my experience……
brace yourself.
it was completely fine.
in fact, I felt much more safe and comfortable ripping down the hwy at 160km then I did going 80 on my sport bike 🤷♂️
where did I have some doubts?
going from stopped into a right or left turn. Throttling out while I’m leaning at low speeds.
stalled the bike once. That was my big oopsie. Never was I worried she was gonna go down tho.
only thing I will say, that a new rider IMO should be very attentive of, was any little bump in the road that sees your hand move, those little movements on throttle can be the difference between you taking a nap or not.
going down the hwy I actually came out my seat twice hitting bumps as I was flying.
felt like I was on a bull….. made me
smile, but no doubt probably wouldn’t wanna do that again.
im a young guy, about 6 foot probably 185 or so right now.
now I haven’t rode this bike enough to be anyone really speaking on the subject, i just thought I’d share my experience, cause it was something I was worried about after reading everything I did and talking to people.
so my advice would be buy the bike you want. Learn how to ride that. Enjoy it.
be responsible, and really pay attention to what your hand is doing to the throttle.
cheers
I will save you the trouble and embarrassment and give you .25 on the dollar and take this off your hands.
Okay, enough snarky Noo Yawker crap....get riding 'cause the weather will be turning to sled season in a few months!
