That kinda looks like a piston c-clip, but don't know how it would ever get there. Hard to tell from pic's though. If you can find every piece of that gear and anything else that's tore up maybe get buy with just replacing broken gear and pump parts, but you would have to find every piece. I don't think there is any snap rings in the cam chest area.

Here’s a better pic of the clip for sizing purposes. It was literally just laying in the bottom of the cam case after I removed the cover. The washer is for the breather valve gear so no worries there. I just have no idea what this clip is from.

The only gears that are tore up are the oil pump shaft gear and then the pinion gear that contacts the oil pump shaft gear. From what I can tell, I’m going to have to pull the motor to replace the oil pump shaft gear because I don’t have enough clearance to get the chewed up gear off the shaft. I removed the cir-clip from the end of the pump shaft by the gear but I still can’t get the gear out.

I literally can’t find any parts diagram that shows a c-clip of that size that’s even supposed to be in the cam case. I don’t know where it came from so if anyone has any ideas please let me know because I’m stumped right now.

Is that clip potentially supposed to be in this groove (where I put the arrow) to keep the shaft from sliding in too far?
