Forgot to mention the lock is extra, I think about $60. You’ll need your VIN # to order the lock.

The 14+ TP rack allows about an inch of play front or back, but if you’re wanting to use the TP as a backrest I suggest getting the metal plate for the bottom of the TP to relieve the stress on the plastic.

Good suggestion, but I plan to move it back far enough that it doesn’t interfere with my current Mustang back rest. Might have to purchase an aftermarket kit, or do some mods to accomplish this.

the hd tourpack should come with the metal baseplate already. i know my hd king did. the big difference in the advanblack and hd tourpack pricing is the 'extras' that come with the advanblack that you have to pay for with the hd. which in the case of the chopped pack is the backrest pad. you can buy one of those cheap on amazon, if needed.

i've always maintained that you're better off going oem on the tourpack. especially if you can get it at a discount. i bought the king tourpack for the wife's bike, didn't need the backrest pad or racks and it was $706 painted industrial grey denim. i did buy a bunch of other stuff, but shipping did come out to $100, being such a large piece. advanblack does give you free shipping. but still not enough difference in price to make it worth it, imo.

OEM all day. I bought advan bags in my opinion they are not as good as the reviews say. The color was pretty decent they claim that the same thickness no they feel thinner. Holes for latches were off I had to elongate holes. If I did it over I would go OEM. At the time I couldn't even order a OEM I'm not sure about now though. But knowing what I know now I probably just would have waited.

I see some big differences in other parts, like stretched bags. Lead times are probably similar best I can tell.
Does that include the backrest, mount, lock, and shipping

I use the chopped tour as a backrest when it’s on the bike in the 1up position… even had 3” of better foam add to the stock pad, then contoured it a little and put a little more than 3” in the bottom flap for lower back support… the stock pad felt like a rock between my lower shoulder blade. It’s great now… and I leave the backrest at the house.
Wish I’d left the rack off the tour pack though…

Would making it quick release help to resolve your issues?

I don't know how you guys are getting your custom painted tour packs from HD for such a great price. When I bought my chopped tour pack for my '19 CVO Street Glide, after all was said and done it was close to $2K. That included the custom painted hinges, custom painted lock, mounting plate, passenger pad, etc...

In the 2020 P&A catalog the HD price for CVO tour paks is $1599. “Non" CVO price is $850 to $950 depending on paint color. Seeing that HD adds the graphics that match the rest of my “custom color” I’m going HD, but for the sake of this discussion Advanblack still advertises $850 including back rest, and shipping (otherwise $40 from the HD dealers I’m looking at on a chopped pak), plus an HD backrest added to that price.

I also just found Stiletto Red touch up paint so I can paint small plugs for the predrilled holes for the backrest if I want to go with just my adjustable Mustang backrest on my seat, which I adjust all the time on the fly depending on whether I’m using my Airhawk for longer rides http://www.eharleyparts.com/cart/Har...o-Red-98601EOW $50 shipped
