Glad to be joining this group. My wife and I bought our 1st Harley last week. We got a 2012 Ultra Limited and absolutely love it!!!
I had a quick question... We have some changes to make and there isn't a ton of easy research to find anywhere. Except for 14+.
What are the highest apes you can put on here without changing clutch and brake lines? I'm 6'3" and get the crazy neck pain.
keithhu-> You are asking the wrong question. It should be "what are the bars that will make me most comfortable, and what is required to purchase and install them". Doesn't make sense to save a few bucks in order to be less comfortable than you otherwise would be.
Some stereo recommendations would be nice. The Rockford and AV seem super expensive for no reason???
keithhu-> Stereo upgrades are expensive. There really is no such thing as a moderately priced upgrade, its either $2K or nothing. You can buy a reasonable kit from biketronics for about $1500, and that'd be about the least expensive, non cheesy audio upgrade purchase if you install yourself.
Lights seem way overpriced as well.
keithhu-> Welcome to the world of Harley Davidson. What would be the right price?
We live in southern Utah and climbing hills on the interstate in 6th doesn't happen. Is that normal (we are 2up)
keithhu -> Normal. You have a 103, if you want more power you need to buy it, otherwise you will have to endure the extreme hardship of downshifting. Such misery!
welcome to the forum. 6th gear is for cruisin, not accelerating. Bars - Figure out what you want then search what needs to be done for that particular installation. I did wo 575s and was able to make everything work. I was not comfortable with how tight the cables and brake lines were. so I went ahead and changed it all out. . Most guys don't like the aftermarket head lights. They are not as good as the daymakers and other lights. I put the 3 light set of sunpie's on mine 3 years ago and love em. $100.00 and some change from amazon. I don't usually buy that type stuff, but 100 vs 700 I had to try it. If they broke tomorrow I would buy them again. Stereo can be crazy. go to the audio section and start dreaming. I put in new stock speakers and use an I pod touch for the feed and my stock stereo is pretty loud. my buddy says he turns his off when we are riding because mine drowns his out. I am only running the 2 batwing speakers, stock head unit. I think the i pod makes the difference. IDK good luck and enjoy the ride.
