WAIT for the Arai. It ONLY took me 40+ years to figure this out. I hated helmets and refused to wear them. Not just because my testosterone was overriding my brain, but mainly because I could never get a good comfortable fit.

Even if the Boom Helmet was a good fit, I think I'd personally wait for the Arai - Arai has uncompromising build standards and practices. Perhaps you can find it available from another retailer?

Spot on. Once I discovered that I have the dreaded long oval, I tried on an Arai and that was it. I can actually wear this all day. I have a Shoei and it really pressures the front forehead like every other helmet that I have tried. The Arai fits like an old broken in ball cap.

Yup. 20 years of liter+ bikes, and I tried an Arai with a stupid dragon on it long ago, it gave me a migraine LOL then I bought my first Shoei RF
I would simply put the Arai on order....right now....the longer you wait to order it, the longer your wait time is going to be. You have owned one and I can tell you that in short order the Harley helmet will feel like a POS in comparison. I t may not right out of the gate, but I guarantee it will after a few long rides....so start getting in line for the actual helmet you will wear and not cuss at...

@TracerBullet Gave me a store to try that I was not aware of.
Ordered the Arai yesterday after confirming on the phone they could put their hands on the helmet. Fingers crossed arriving within two weeks or less.
I'm happy! Once you commit to spending the big $$ on a helmet nothing really would satisfy.
I actually tried on the HD helmet at a different dealer in large size and it did not feel as good the second time.
I think I was trying to convince myself it was OK. Though the HD helmet at $300. was a steal with Boom installed.
Can't wait to wear something new after 16 years!!
I got the new Arai Signet-X today. I paced around the store for an hour trying on other helmets as I was really struggling with the $700 price tag. I ended up getting a headache trying to go cheaper. I put the Arai back on and after wearing a few $250-$500 helmets, it fit like a well worn leather jacket. Done. I put on a mirrored visor and peeled off the VERY cheap Arai forehead sticker. Yes, I left the SNELL and DOT stickers on the back.
I actually like the silver. Get over it. I live in AZ and will NOT wear a black helmet. "Black ones are only a few degrees hotter"... BS. Let one rest in the AZ summer sun and see if you can put your hand on it. You can with light colors. Easily a 50* temperature difference in the shell material.

Yeah it's worth the cost.
I was told I could have swapped out the head piece in the large size Arai to a medium and would have been all set. Oh well another $50. anyway.
Just watching for my tracking #.
Not grown up. Thats a great helmet. I mainly ride with my neotec, but when want open face, that is the helmet to have. I believe it is quieter than the neotec

How easily did the sticker peal off. I just picked up a Deviant X and Im thinking the sticker needs to go.
