Default Belt Drive

Just a question on belt drives
My 2006 EGC is my first HD as well as my first belt drive and Im very impressed how smooth it runs, my question is what life should I expect out of the belt and sprockets ( if you can call them that ) I know it depends on riding style, loads etc just looking for a general average. Also when it does start to wear what are the symtons.

Thanks in advance

MoCo says 10 years/100,000 miles on the drive belt. Ain't seen nuthin' specific on the sprockets...

Anything over about 50k on a belt, and I'd change the pulleys when I changed the belt.

FYI, my belt has 66k miles on it and still looks like new.

1600 bucks to change a belt? That's 1k over what even a dealership normally charges.

Since no one apparently has told you yet, you should know..on the internet, using all caps is SHOUTING !!

In normal conversation, there's no need to raise your voice.

Belts should last at least 50,000 miles, but a lot depends on conditions. A lot of riding on roads with dirt, sand, etc. will cause the belt and sprockets to wear faster. A rock or other foreign object that damages the belt will shorten life.

In dirt/sand conditions you will notice that pieces of the coating that is on the sprockets starts to come off. It looks like chrome peeling. When this happens, it will shorten the life of the belt due to the rough surfaces on the sprockets.
