Well, the crate engine was installed in October 2019...

At that time, the crate engine itself was $6399.00. They only charged $496 to remove the old engine and install the new engine. They charged $449 for the dyno break-in and dyno tune.

There are some gaskets, plus engine, trans, & primary oils... Plus they use the S&S oil lines & installation kit. If I had done the install, I would have done the case drilling mod, so the oil path would be internal, just like the OEM HD. But alas, S&S only warranties their crate engines if you use their oil lines/kit...

I purchased from FuelMoto, at the time of install, the air cleaner (my Stage I wouldn't cut it), AIM VPC, and Barnett spring for the clutch.

I supplied the exhaust (FuelMoto Jackpot 2-1) that I purchased about 6 months earlier for my Stage I. I only intending to maybe go 117" at that time... I also supplied the SE 58mm throttle body and SE 5.3 injectors, along with my PowerVision tuner (which I bought from FuelMoto several years earlier for my other bikes, I have three)... I received two tunes on the PowerVision. One for max power, and one just a little dialed back for if I were to experience some spark knock with the CA gas or winter gas...

I believe all total I was at $10K and a very little change for the turnkey install and tune.

I bought the 2016 Ultra Classic used for 15K, in excellent condition, with the upgraded radio & GPS. I upgraded the engine for $10K. So for just over $25K I had a Rushmore at 135HP & 151TQ, much cheaper than a new M8 with stage IV (to be about the same power numbers)...

For me, my goals, and my budget.... I made an excellent decision... FuelMoto was excellent to work with..

Damn! You guys are great inspiration! I just bought an 01 RK. New Progressive fork kit and Drag specialties shocks. And a new fairing. I got rid of the high speed wobble. My next move is a cam plate with cams. Big bore kit will have to wait because kids expenses are a killer.

i have a set of Andrews gear drive cams that will drop right into that motor. I'd make you a pretty good deal on them if you're interested.

For that matter, and for the rest of you, I have two whole motors. Both with fuel injection on them, both 2003 models.

The first: 88 punched out to 96. Needs new bearings in the bottom end. Top end is fine. This is the one with the Andrews cams. So if you want the whole thing, speak up before 01STREETKING does. This motor has about 50k Miles on it.

The other one has the exact same problem. Although it still runs. I shut it down before anything failed. Bearings started seizing and I killed it. Its a Screamin Eagle 103 factory crate motor with about 25k on it.

I just blew my second motor and instead of rebuilding again, I'm dropping in an S&S T124. I have a few questions:
1) HC or LC on the T124? I don't race, I don't ride fast, I'm 55 and I like to get where I'm going. I ride a lot and don't want super high maintenance or risk out on the road. I always Schaeffer oil and I do all my own work.
2) My most recent motor was a Screamin Eagle 103. EFI and all. Do I need to buy the S&S 58mm throttle body and injector kit? Or is mine ok to use on the 124?
3) What do you all recommend for replacement bearing and bushings for swing arm, steering neck, motor mounts, wheel bearings, etc...... And let me know if I missed something. That should be all. I just put in the Jim's inner primary bearing about 15k miles before she blew, along with a 6 speed overdrive from Ultima. So, I should be good there.
4) Anything else I'm missing? I want a brand new bike when I get this done. Its also getting new paint and all the chrome blacked out with powder coat.

Thanks in advance, and please advice only, I don't need any shitty comments about "why are you rebuilding a 20 year old bike instead of buying a new one". Well because I love my bike, its super cool and gets a lot of pictures taken of it at Sturgis every year, and everywhere else for that matter. I don't want a new one, and I can get all this done for around $8K. A new Roadglide 131 will cost me upwards of $50K Not in the cards for me.

Thanks for any input.
I run a S&S HC 124 in my 06 street glide.
As far as throttle body when I first installed it
I had a hpi 51 mm I used because I already had it
And funds were low. It ran fine.
I eventually upgrade to a hpi 58 mm
And 5.3 injectors. And only picked up
5 hp and torque on the dyno.
All depends if your chasing numbers or not.
There is a great deal on a hpi 55mm
In the classifieds now.
You will also need a good clutch to handle
The hp & torque. I run a bandit machine.
Motor mount I went with glide pro.
They also Carry the swing arm bushings.

You left out the part about buying a Jeep and trailer to get your bike to Wisconsin !

To be accurate, the Jeep was almost a year old... but the trailer was a long needed and overdue purchase....

PS- And for the record, I would have ridden the bike both ways, and almost did.... but my appointment was for late October and I was worried about the weather reports... turns out the trailer was good idea.... Luckily I had a cover on the bike for this overnight stop on my way home...

Just watched Jake's video about the bushings and motor mount. Definitely going to do the Glide-Pro whole package. That looks like it will make the biggest difference other than a new motor.
That HPI says its for 06-17, so guess it won't work on my 03. I'm still trying to figure out just what I have on mine. I haven't disassembled it yet, but how do I tell what my Throttle Body is? Size? Where do I measure it? Is it the opening size where you put on the intake/air cleaner?

It will work on the S&S crate. That is what you said you
were dropping in it.
You mentioned you blew up a ultima motor.
was it the complete ultima twincam engine.
Take some pictures of the throttle body

no it was a Screaming Eagle 103. I have an Ultima transmission. It’s fine. Here’s a quick pic. I’ll have to disassemble if you need to see the whole thing.
