Default Tail light options?

I want to be able to run without the rear rack on my ‘19 FLHTP sometimes, so I relocated the license plate to down under the tail light. Well the license plate light still shines up through the clear plastic window on top of the lens. What bike tail light might work for an easy swap?

CD also makes a license plate frame that has lights. That and an all red tail light may be the way to go.
This is how I am doing my plate relocation.

If you just want a solid red lens, see if a HD Road King lens will fit it, I'm having problems seeing part numbers for your bike, but if it is a brake light lens like the Ultra Limited has, you can get a Road King brake light lens without a "tag window" on top. It is what I did when I changed my 2016 RGU's tag location... same lens, just no clear window... may not be any cheaper though than other suggestions made, I think they run about $50-60.

Why not just spray some red paint over the clear portion of the tail light. Remove it, mask it, spray it and re-install it...easy peasy.

Any tail light discussion would be incomplete with a mention of "brightasslights" LED tail lights with numerous flashing modes when the brakes are activated. I believe they are available with the clear on the upper or lower surface. There are several LED tail lights now but this is, or is among the best. I live in a state with chronic tail gaiters and this light has never failed to get them to back off. Or to keep your old lens, rather than spraying a red that likely won't even come close to matching, I would put black tape on the inside of the lens.

I looked before I answered and I did not see an option for a bottom window on a BAL. Maybe I missed it. I am going with a solid red layback style BAL and a lighted license plate frame from CD.

Thanks guys! That Dennis Kirk lens looks like just the ticket but the site says it fits up through ‘18. I wasn’t aware of a change in ‘19 but who knows?
