Harley Wireless Headsets
Hello everyone
I have purchased Harley branded wireless headsets for my 2015 Street glide special. I installed the whim, had the stealer flash the radio. I also have passenger headset. I am trying to set these up for rider to passenger intercom, listen to music and prompts. have all that done, but trying to fine tune these to work better. I was wondering if any of you have settings to share. I have learned alot, but have quirks i would like to work out.one question is for rider to passenger intercom do you enable the radio intercom or or just set intercom through the headsets. and what settings do you use for vox..do you use vox settings on the radio or the headsets? thanks in advance for the help

@kchoghead I always try updating everything in the system. Stereo, WHIM, each BT Comm unit, heck make sure your phone is updated. Then I can hopefully avoid any bugs that may have been present. As @greg09997 offered, paring the units together, but I ride more solo than with people. [60/40..?] so mine is paired to the WHIM - for tunes mostly.
If I pair it to the phone also - I should get the Sena 30K app to work, but apparently, this messes it up. I need to work out with buddy - he also bought a 30K - to try to pair directly to him & avoid the WHIM, as he doesn't have a stereo [Road King Special]. We're shooting for a long ride this summer together, and comms will be more important than tunes.
You mentioned going to a "stealer," can they provide some tech support, as I'm guessing you bought everything from them..?

Once install plug you headsets one at a time in to USB . It will update headset software if needed.. then you will see a screen that will allow you you chose a list of setting that fit your needs. Take you time and play around with it.
As for the WHIM do not worry about any updates. it has only been update 2 time sense it can out good to go.
VOX simple it the level at witch you want the mic to kick in. Set to low wind sets it off to high and it does not work. Play with it. You have HD branded latter you will learn to use the system on the bike to change many setting to you needs.
Heads sets have two channels you can do passenger to ride through the system or direct with the headsets at the same time you use the headset with radio.
hang in there you have a big learning curve ahead of you.
if you got the hd banded 30k (or 50) units and don't ride in a group with mixed tech, then the mesh option is an easy way. press the mesh button, and it will automatically connect.
I have the WHIM and 30K headsets on my bike. I use the built-in intercom. It works well but the VOX isn't the greatest. I upgraded the hand controls so I now use PTT (push-to-talk) for the intercom. It's much nicer than having the music cut in and out constantly.
i forgot to mention they are 30k headsets and i bought them and the whim from a member on this forum. i do have everything updated...When headsets are paired for intercom if i talk the music quits instead of lowers and it takes 10 seconds of not talking to get the music back. I readjusted the vox settings on the headsets but have not had a chance to try them yet. I will report when I do...and yes i have turned the intercom on the boom off

update...changed the vox settings on the intercom on headsets and music , prompts and phone calls play at highway speeds. now if i can figure out why when i talk to my spouse , music stops and about 10 seconds after no one talks, music resumes....and yes the headsets are linked for intercom, not through the boom.
