Hate to bring this up again but new owner of a 2013 Ultra. Long time rider first time bagger. I'd like the option to pull the TP off and was looking at relocating the turn signals all in the same mod. Can I use the the 2014+ harley kit that puts the markers on the bags and quick detach for the TP or is there something about the strut mounts that are different between the 2013 and 2014?
You can get on HD's web site and put in the year and model to find the correct accessories. I thought that would be the first thing would do on my RGL but now being use to having the tourpak there have decided will not do that being the bike handles very good even with the TP.
The 4-point docking hardware that comes with the 2014+ kit are made for the 2014+ bikes and won't fit your '13 Ultra. The light harness has a different connector for the Rushmore bikes also. There is a conversion kit for the 2009 - 2013 bikes, and you'll also need the wiring harness for the TP lights. I'm not too sure if H-D still sells the conversion kit, but some online dealers still have them.
You can get saddlebag lights from Custom Dynamics, Ciro, and others for your bike.
It is all different... a 2014 and up "kit" wont work for yours. The 2014 is simpler to do btw...
Check these part numbers to be sure I got the right numbers...
The 4 point dock for your bike has 3 bolts, #54205-09A,connecting it to the bike/strut (2 bolts on the one for 2014 and newer). You may even have to get new strut covers with the third bolt hole, or "drill" yours for the dock to mount (not noticeable after you install the dock).
The rack for your tour pack is #53276-09B, which is for 2013 and older.
I haven't done a 2013, but I have done a 2010, and if its the same... You'll have to figure out where to put the tag, and light it. We used a Softbrake tag bracket and a lit tag frame that bolted right up to the stock brake/turn lights on the fender.
The wiring is different also, but most can be unplugged... there's just a few connectors (speakers, tourpack's lights, antennas). The main pain in the *** was the passenger headset jack. It didn't "unplug"... but we were able to undo it from the tourpack and tuck it under the seat w/o messing it up. The speakers unplugged by pulling the connector out of the pods enough to unplug. FM antenna replaced with a hidden antenna in the fairing. CB antenna, I can't remember what we did with that. Then unplugged the tourpack's brake/turn lights... seemed like there was 1 other connector too.
I can't help you with the bag lights, assuming you're wanting to get rid of the lollypops turn signals, I am sure someone sells a different Brake/Turn lights for your bike... just dont forget about the tag lol
