I've had mine on my Sportster for 4 years now and starts right up strong.
Pros -
Light weight and small.
Can go w/o a tender for several months and fires right up.
Can install on end if need be.
No issues with charging system. It charges lithium battery like regular batteries when running.

Cons -
Expensive compared to regular battery of same CCA.
Needs tender that charges LiFePO4 battery.
Need to warm up if real cold.

be very careful 'going months without using a tender'. the lithium batteries will not maintain a charge for as long as an agm battery if there is any parasitic drain (ie. security system). it will stay charged a lot longer 'on the shelf' though. as far as getting a tender that supports it, many of the newer tenders do, just check.

I have one and cant wait for April when I will go back to an AGM battery. We live in a colder climate and it has a hard time starting every time temps are below 60 deg. I paid for my education on batteries!

When the weather warms up it will be good and great again. Swap it out before next winter as the temperatures drop.

AGM batteries can freeze and not immune from the cold.

i've heard that the lithium batteries have to 'warm up' in the colder temps. it is said that if you turn your ignition on, and just let it sit for a minute before you try to start, that'll alleviate many problems. or turn the engine over the first time, then stop, rest for 10 secs, then turn it over again and it should crank/fire the second time. i'm not seeing it as a big deal, as long as you are aware of it and can make allowances. course, i don't have one, so i can't say. it might be irritating as hell.....

I have no first hand knowledge, but read a lot about them while doing research. I even contacted Antigravity batteries with some specific questions... I was thinking of going Lithium when I installed my 124" crate engine...

"Warming up" a lithium battery in cold weather, as mentioned by skratch, is one of the "quirks" I read about.... Not really a problem, but you need to know how to deal with that "quirk"..

Lithium batteries will be damaged if discharged to a certain point. I had it confirmed by Antigravity Batteries, that the BMS (battery management system) on their batteries will keep a battery from being overcharged or discharged to the point of harming the battery. Even though they have a popular "restart" line of lithium batteries, I was told how their BMS batteries, without restart, can also be "woke up" once the BMS goes into protection mode (sleep) to avoid deep discharge. It just needs a few more steps than just pushing a button, like on their "restart" batteries... Most PowerSports lithium batteries have a BMS to protect the battery, but not all are as sophisticated as Antigravity Battery's BMS...

The biggest problem with lithium batteries is that if they are charged in cold temps, the battery can be damaged. I forget the temp threshold below which they get damaged, but many RV lithiums and auto lithiums now have a heater circuit to avoid damage when charged in cold temps. Many RVs are moving their lithium battery banks to inside living space compartments, as an attempt to avoid the cold threshold issue...

And of course, they have a different charging profile that requires a specific tender/charger that is compatible with them.. Luckily, many of the new smart chargers/tenders are now coming with a lithium profile like they do for Flooded, AGM, and Gel batteries...

In the end, I just went with a Yuasa AGM with 500CCA. It spins my 124" engine easily and doesn't have any quirks of the lithium batteries. Plus it was a bunch cheaper....

I have no doubt we will all be using lithium batteries in the future, but I just don't think they are quite there yet, for me anyways..

I have done the "warn up" procedure mentioned and it still drags. A charged battery will not freeze no mater the type, agm or lead acid. Im NOT sure about the lithium batteries but I am tired of dealing with it.

Back to AGM for me and I wont look back.
