I'm looking for someone that can help me acquire a part for my 2022 Road Glide Limited. I'm using the black Kahuna collection and would like to get the horn insert from a CVO that has the red bar and shield emblem. I tried to buy the part but it's VIN restricted and my bike is not a CVO. Is there anyone that can help me obtain that part?
Just to be clear, I don't have a CVO but am looking for a part that's from a CVO for my 2021 RGL. I was hoping someone that has a CVO could help me out.
If someone was willing to help you out the motor company wants the old part returned. So he can't say it was damaged and just wants a new one...not that easy. HD is pretty diligent at protecting cvo owners...wouldn't you be kinda pissed if you dropped 50k on a new cvo and Ed from up the street bought a base model then just went to the HD catalog and added some cvo parts? Worse part is now Suzie at the ice cream shop thinks you both have the same bike. Your best chance is to find someone who has one and has taken it off for whatever reason and is willing to sell it. This was a hot subject about 3 years ago over the bar and shield tank badges on the cvo's in 2019 I think. There were copy cats making them and there were people taking them off their bike and then selling them on ebay for crazy money...saw them listed for 6 or 7 hundred a couple times. The one that kinda got me was a guy was going on dealer websites and finding dealers that were dumb enough to post the vin numbers on the ad for cvo's and this guy would then take that vin and order badges. Not bad enough that he was doing but then thought he'd share his knowledge on the internet on certain harley related sites. The loophole didn't stay open long. Sorry for the long story lol...but if you're willing to pay im sure you'll find someone willing to sell.
Exactly you need to show registration and drivers license to make sure its you. But if you know somebody who has that bike and have him orders it up for you. Again good luck
Suggestion, find someone you know that has a CVO with the part you want. Ask him to buy one from the dealership and reimburse him for the part and his efforts.
