I was riding yesterday and taking in the surroundings (as we all do) when it dawned on me how lucky I am to have my bike; to be riding in a country where I have the freedom to ride all damn day if I want and to cross multiple state borders if I damn well feel like it. I have to tell you I am thankful for the privilege to ride my Harley and to be an American. Sorry to be so deep but it was almost a spiritual feeling havingthe wind on my face, the smell of pine in my nose and the rumbling thunder under me. I damn near gave my left nut to get my scoot but there are many that have given a lot more for me to be free to ride all day. And to them, all of them, I say thank you.
well said! I could not agree more. As a vet of the latest Iraq war I can not tell you how lucky I feel to be around to ride my Harley. Nothing matters in this worldwhen I twist that throttle and point my bike down the road.
I leave for Yellowstone on Wednesday (2000 miles round trip) and I feel like my whole life has been waiting for a memory such as this.

Lucky devil. Have a fun trip and bring back some pics for us.
Amen! We don't realize how nice we have it hear in the U.S. I was with a few folks from the U.K. a while back. First of all, they couldn't believe our gas prices here. They're significantly higher in Europe. Don't quote me, but I want to say around $6/gallon. HD prices are also very favorable here. Do the conversion based on the HD-UK site, and you'll see they're significantly more expensive there. We're truly blessed!
Freedom is never free. The sacrifices, the lifes, the hurt, the things that we take for granted all comes at a cost and the ultimate price, just so we can speak freely, move from place to place freely, ride as we please, stop as we please, eat as we please, we only have this fredom because of our service men and women! Please take a min out of your day to say THANK YOU TO A VET.

I know what you're sayin'. I've been laid up and off work for 3 weeks now with a 4th comin' up and NOT able to ride. (h***, I can barely stand up)
I am dying to get back on the bike...I was planning on taking all of Sept off work and going on a big trip down south.
Now I know what they mean when they say...."If you don't have your health, you've got nothing."
