Thinking about going with a new crate motor in my old 2006 FLHX Street glide. The tc88 is starting to give me a few issues so I'm just getting prepared. Does anyone have a 111 or a 124 and can give me some feedback on what you thing about them?
The 124 would be nice but I'm kind of leaning towards the shorter stroke 111 engine.

I recently installed a t124 hc. In my 2015 rgs and just hit 7k miles. Mine made 135hp 133tq with 5.3 injectors 58mm tb and boarzilla tuned with powervision. I did have a leaky rear rocker gasket leak

Have no experience with the 111. I've owned a 117 and a 124. All I can say is if they're tuned right you better hang on.
Thanks for the input guys! I reached out to s&s technical support and they recommend the 111 over the 124 for a touring bagger. Here is their response,"Hey James, If I were to do a lot of touring and wanted longevity I would choose the 111 everytime. The shorter stroke keeps pistons speeds down and the smaller cubes keeps the heat down both helping longevity."
They're their engines. If the say 111 "hands down" then I'd take their word for it. You're looking at getting an engine from one of the most respected V twin builders there is. I'd take their advice.
I pit a T111 in my bagger about 4 years ago. Runs great and I have never been beat in a drag race with any hopped up Harley. Never raced a sns 124. 111 has gobs of torque and very smooth
