Default 2001 Ultra Max Bars

2001 ultra classic owner. Could someone tell/show the max height of handlebars my bike can handle without buying wires and cables?

Plenty of handlebar threads on the subject: use the "search" field up-top. But generally, the stock wires/cables can handle 10" or 12" bars. But it also depends on the style of bars, since a wider grip may need more play in the wire and cables...even when wires and cable "reach," you may choose to re-route the cables for the slack needed for full-lock turning... Your opinions and standards are what counts: I've seen some setups that I wouldn't be comfortable riding.

My 2 cents: Get the seat that makes you happy first. If you already have that, look at your riding stance and how you would be most comfortable. Sounds goofy, but get a broom handle and sit on your bike. It'll help you see how much higher from stock you may want to go. Then you can shop for the style you like...Hell, you can swing by a dealership- they'll help you figure out what you like and what you don't- and you don't have to buy them there...but don't "settle" or only look at those that don't require new cables or extended wires. I know a lot of folks that changed bars and many that started low regretted not going higher pretty quickly...

Hope this helps.
